The Secretaría de Movilidad de Medellín (Department of Mobility) and Waze began working together through the exchange and analysis of information, to achieve more efficient mobility in the city.
Waze would provide realtime information on traffic speeds, and these data are used to make more timely forms a traffic light planning to decrease congestion on a road, increased green light times in some areas, reducing travel times which indicate higher occupancy sensors.
The Department of Mobility will deliver accurate and advance information on events and construction work, which they will schedule to publish with Waze application in a timely manner and not have to wait for users to submit warnings.
This is just the beginning of cooperation, as reported by the Department of Mobility, and is expected to continue in other phases.
